St. Bernadette School incorporates a strong Catholic identity in all aspects of the school day. Students in grades 1-8 participate in Mass twice a week. Our students also share in the preparation and service of the Mass itself. Kindergarten students attend Mass twice a month, on holy days of obligation and any special All-School Masses, on which days we’re also joined by the Pre-Kindergarten.
Catholic values and religious practices are taught daily. A complete religion curriculum is in place to support and assist staff members in their teachings. Staff is supported weekly by mini-lessons from our school’s Pastor. Daily prayer is done throughout the day in classrooms as well as Morning Prayer and Pledge, led by students, prayed school-wide over the intercom. For example, students begin and end each day with prayer, welcoming the Lord in their hearts and thanking Him for His gifts.
Students are also given opportunities to participate in school service projects sponsored by our Home & School organization, by the Student Council or through individual class projects inspired by generous hearts. Service opportunities occur at a minimum of once a month.
