Rooted in Faith.

St. Bernadette follows archdiocesan curriculum standards in math, language arts, science and social studies. Additional classes are offered in music, physical education, library, computer and art. Our curriculum focuses on preparing children for lifelong success.
SBS students receive a strong foundation in reading, math, science, social studies and religion. Teachers use standardized test scores and other data to help plan lessons with knowledge of student abilities. Because our school is one classroom per grade, teachers collaborate with others in their grade level across the Omaha Catholic School Consortium to share best practices related to instruction and helping students reach their learning goals.
Children grow in their relationship with God through daily prayer, twice-weekly Mass and hands-on faith experiences. We are also blessed to have tremendous support from the parish and parent volunteers, who facilitate meaningful experiences for our students to deepen their faith outside the classroom.
SBS students enjoy opportunities for enrichment that include:
SBS students consistently achieve honors in area Art Shows and contests through the KVSS and other organizations. Our school also hosts annual challenges for school t-shirt design and yearbook cover.
Students have the chance to perform concerts multiple times per year, and middle schoolers can participate in the Music in Catholic Schools instrumental band program if desired.
Throughout the school year, students are paired across grade levels for reading and art activities that create meaningful connections and a family-like atmosphere. Older students grow as leaders while younger students gain confidence and support from their school community.

Partnership with Gross CatholicSBS’s shared campus with Gross Catholic High School creates a dynamic and enriching environment for our students. With regular access to high school facilities, participation in P.E. classes, accelerated middle school coursework and opportunities to gather for joint Mass, students benefit from experiences that broaden their learning and deepen their sense of community. |
